Objects with Stories

Look at museums' objects like you've never done before!

Visit your local museum to find extraordinary objects and exhibits, often made for a particular purpose by a fascinating person. Many of these objects have been through some amazing journeys and circumstances, and almost all of them, when you stop to look more closely, will tell you a powerful story.

So, pick a time that you'd like to visit your local museum, find an object that tells a story of migration and inspires you then just tell us about it!

Or outside of museums there are also many objects originally created by refugees, find out about one.

Did you know that toilet paper rolls were introduced to the UK by a German refugee in the 1930s? Or have you ever thought about the most classic of British favourites: fish ‘n chips, which were imported by refugees from Portugal in the 17th century?
